JOB OPPORTUNITY

The Private Power & Infrastructure Board (PPIB), a statutory/autonomous body under the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), Government of Pakistan, is seeking applications from dynamic and self-driven individuals for the position of JOINT DIRECTOR (PLANNING & PROCUREMENT). This role is ideal for professionals who excel in multitasking, embrace challenges, and are eager to make a significant contribution to the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Educational Requirements:

    • A professional degree (4-year Bachelor's) in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Energy) from an HEC-recognized local or foreign institution.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the power/energy sector.

  • Additional Qualifications:

    • An academic background in Economics, Finance, or Energy Management.
    • Proficiency in planning applications/software is advantageous.

  • Professional Expertise:

    • Extensive experience in power planning, modeling, acquisition, load forecasting, and demand/supply analysis.
    • Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively with Power/Energy sector entities.
    • Strong analytical and report writing skills.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Joint Director (Planning & Procurement) will be responsible for:

  1. Consultation with SOLRs: Estimating capacity and energy obligations while preparing power procurement programs/plans aligned with the CTBCM (Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market) regime.

  2. Liaison with Stakeholders: Coordinating with relevant stakeholders and NEPRA to obtain approvals for procurement programs/plans.

  3. Support to IAA Functions: Assisting in the execution of relevant functions of the Independent Auction Administrator (IAA) under PPIB in the context of CTBCM.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Age Limit: Maximum of 45 years as of the date of the advertisement.
