Position Title:

General Manager – Internal Audit


Job Purpose

The General Manager Internal Audit will head the Internal Audit function of the Company and will be responsible for planning, supervising, and executing audit and risk-based assignments. The role includes financial and IT audits, internal control reviews, operational and performance audits, compliance reviews, investigations, and all other responsibilities assigned under the audit charter and by the Board Audit Committee (BAC) from time to time.


Key Responsibilities

The incumbent’s duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk-based Internal Audit Plan aligned with organizational strategies and priorities, and continuously monitor and refine it to ensure effectiveness.

  • Assess enterprise-wide risks and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management practices and internal controls over key risk areas.

  • Examine and analyze financial and operational records to assess adequacy, efficiency, and effectiveness of internal control systems, including compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Board-approved policies and procedures.

  • Conduct objective reviews of IT systems and business processes, providing independent and unbiased assessments of process completeness, efficiency, and effectiveness.

  • Supervise and perform audit procedures, review audit evidence, document processes, and prepare clear and comprehensive audit reports.

  • Investigate and report instances of potential fraud, waste, or abuse, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Perform compliance and substantive audit testing to ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify weaknesses in internal control systems and provide practical, value-added recommendations for improvement.

  • Stay updated with the latest developments in International Standards on Auditing, best practices, and professional guidelines.

  • Review system procedures to ensure compliance with the Code of Corporate Governance and all other applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Liaise effectively with senior management and the Board Audit Committee.


Qualifications

  • CA / ICMA / CIA / CFE / CICA

  • Degrees must be obtained from HEC-recognized universities/institutes


Age & Experience

  • Maximum Age: 40 years

  • Experience: 11–15 years of post-qualification experience

    • Minimum 5 years at a senior management level in the Audit Department of a comparable organization


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong professional judgement and analytical ability

  • Proven ability to manage time, workload, and multiple audit assignments effectively

  • Experience working closely with senior management and the Board Audit Committee

  • Proficiency in IT-based audit systems

  • Strong understanding of financial analysis and risk assessment
