NADRA is seeking highly skilled, technical, and experienced cyber security professionals for its database security wing under the provisions of Regulations 9, 10, and 11 of the NADRA Employees (Service) Regulations, 2002.

POSITION DETAILS & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. Deputy Director (Database Security)

  • Maximum Age: 44 Years (5 years general age relaxation is already included)

  • Job Location: Islamabad

  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelors (4 Years) in Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security, Information Security, or an equivalent related field from an HEC-recognized university.

    • Preferred: Master's degree in a relevant subject. All degrees must be HEC-attested.

  • Professional Experience:

    • Minimum 6 years of technical hands-on experience in the administration, management, and security of databases (such as Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).

    • Proven knowledge of Database Security requirements and Database Analytics using database activity monitoring (DAM) tools.

    • Preferred Certifications: Oracle Database Admin, IBM Guardium Admin, Imperva Admin, Oracle Database Security Administration, SQL, or equivalent.

2. Assistant Director (Database Security)

  • Maximum Age: 37 Years (5 years general age relaxation is already included)

  • Job Location: Islamabad

  • Educational Background:

    • Bachelors (4 Years) in Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security, Information Security, or Electrical/Electronics Engineering with relevant IS certifications from an HEC-recognized university. All degrees must be HEC-attested.

  • Professional Experience:

    • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in a reputable organization focusing on Database Administration, Database Security, and Database Analytics using DAM or SIEM tools.

    • Preferred Certifications: Technical certifications or digital badges in any DAM product or equivalent.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Functional Area Deputy Director (Database Security) Assistant Director (Database Security)
System Deployment & Maintenance Plan, size, and design Guardium appliance architecture; lead installation, user policies, and lifecycle management. Install, configure, and setup Guardium appliances; deploy Guardium agents on database servers for log collection.
Monitoring & Risk Analytics Audit user behaviors; identify risks via active threat analytics dashboards; oversee automation of daily/weekly incident reports. Monitor and audit privileged user actions; perform data discovery/classification with stakeholders to prioritize security rules.
Patching & Compliance Generate vulnerability assessment reports; monitor appliance licensing, and coordinate patch deployment with DBAs/Admins. Ensure timely patching of Guardium appliances, keep track of license renewals, and analyze risks from existing log data.
Incident Resolution Troubleshoot Guardium-specific incidents directly with IBM support; resolve data incidents with data owners. Research, troubleshoot, and resolve general data security incidents; collaborate across technical teams.
Continuity & Planning Provision data security blueprints for new projects; ensure robust backup, disaster recovery, and cloud/on-prem controls. Implement operational cybersecurity controls for on-premises/cloud infrastructure; ensure data backup mechanisms.
 

TERMS, CONDITIONS & RECRUITMENT RULES

  • Probation Period: The selected candidates will undergo a 6-month probation period, which is extendable based on performance evaluation.

  • Verification: HEC-attested degrees must be provided at the time of the interview. Selected candidates must also produce Character and Medical Fitness Certificates.

  • Government Employees: Candidates serving in Government, Semi-Government, or Autonomous departments must attach an official No Objection Certificate (NOC) during submission.

  • General Rules: No TA/DA will be paid for tests or interviews. Electronic gadgets (mobiles, smartwatches, etc.) are strictly prohibited in the examination centers.
