Vacant Positions

In accordance with Rule 5-A of the Sindh Civil Servants (Appointment, Promotion & Transfer) Rules, 1974, applications are invited from eligible candidates possessing relevant qualifications and experience for the following vacant posts in the Internal Audit Unit (IAU), Energy Department, Government of Sindh, Karachi.

Post 1: Deputy Internal Auditor (01 Position)

Qualifications & Experience:
2nd Class or Grade “C” Master’s Degree from an HEC-recognized university.
AND

  • CA/ACCA/ICAEW/ICMA: Minimum 05 years post-qualification experience.

  • ACCA/ICAEW/ICMA: Experience must include 05 years in audit, accounts, finance, or consultancy in a reputable organization.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing risk-based audit plans for the Energy Department.

  • Conduct audit examinations and evaluate internal controls and compliance.

  • Perform special assignments as directed, including HR audits, and coordinate with DIA (Director Internal Audit).

  • Ensure adherence to financial rules, regulations, and professional standards.

  • Review departmental financial matters and suggest improvements.

Post 2: Senior Internal Auditor (01 Position)

Qualifications & Experience:
HEC-recognized professional qualification such as CA/ACCA/ICAEW/ICMA/CIMA/ICAP-PIPFA.
AND

  • CA/ACCA/ICAEW/ICMA/CIMA: Minimum 03 years post-qualification experience.

  • ICAP-PIPFA/MBA Finance: Minimum 03 years post-qualification experience, preferably in audit, finance, or related fields.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing annual audit plans and programs.

  • Conduct compliance and performance audits.

  • Coordinate with external auditors and oversee audit assignments.

  • Monitor audit team performance and compile audit reports.

  • Provide support in implementing audit recommendations.

Post 3: Internal Auditor (01 Position)

Qualifications & Experience:
HEC-recognized professional qualification such as CA/ACCA/ICAEW/ICMA/CIMA.
AND

  • CA: Minimum 02 years post-qualification experience.

  • Other qualifications: Minimum 02 years post-qualification experience in audit or finance.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Identify key risks and contribute to audit planning.

  • Execute audit programs and evaluate internal controls.

  • Prepare working papers and draft audit reports.

  • Ensure compliance with departmental rules and procedures.

  • Perform any other task assigned by senior audit officials.

General Conditions:

  1. Maximum age limit: 45 years.

  2. Government servants must apply through the proper channel.

  3. Appointments will be made on a contract basis for 02 years, extendable based on performance.

  4. Selected candidates may be offered a permanent position after satisfactory performance during the contract period.

  5. Market-based competitive salaries will be offered.
