Vacancy Announcement: DEAN

Position Title:

Dean – Medical Teaching Institution

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must be an established scholar in medical or basic sciences.

  • Possess one of the following qualifications:

    • MBBS or equivalent, plus a higher diploma such as:

      • FCPS

      • FRCP

      • FRCS

      • US Board Certification

      • Ph.D. in a medical science discipline

  • Minimum seven (7) years of administrative experience, specifically in leading a department, unit, program, or institution.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities.

  • Proven track record in teaching.

  • Strong commitment to medical education and research.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the head of the Medical Institution.

  • Responsible for:

    • Faculty recruitment and development

    • Undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching

    • Research activities

  • Reports directly to the Board of Governors.

  • Manages all budgetary and financial matters related to the medical school.

  • Will be awarded a faculty appointment (Associate or Full Professor) in an appropriate department, based on the candidate’s specialty.

    • Note: This appointment is independent of the Dean's term duration.
