Organization & Commission Overview

• Organization: Pakistan Air Force (PAF)

• Induction Type: Commissioned Officer in Medical Branch via 137 Combat Support Course (137 CSC)

• Service Track: Short Service Special Commission (SPSSC)

• Training Duration: 24 weeks at the Pakistan Air Force Academy Asghar Khan (PAFAA), Risalpur.

• Mandatory Prerequisites: Applicants must possess a valid NADRA Smart CNIC and a Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) registration certificate.

Faculty Positions & Branch Categories

1. Medical Branch (Specialist)

• Induction Rank: Squadron Leader

• Age Limit (on October 15, 2026): 25 to 35 years

• Nationality: Male or Female citizens of Pakistan

• Educational Qualification: Specialized postgraduate qualification/diploma from a recognized Pakistani or foreign medical institution registered with the PMDC in the following fields:

  • Eye Specialist: FCPS / FRCS (Ophth) / Diplomate of American Board

  • Anesthetist: FCPS / FRCA / Diplomate of American Board

  • Radiologist: FCPS / MRCR / FRCR / Diplomate of American Board

  • ENT Specialist: FCPS / MRCS (ENT) / FRCS (ENT) / Diplomate of American Board

  • Psychiatrist: FCPS / MRCP / RCP / Diplomate of American Board

  • Neurosurgeon: FCPS / FRCS / MRCS / Diplomate of American Board

  • Orthopedic Surgeon: FCPS / FRCS / Diplomate of American Board

2. Medical Branch (General Duty Medical Officers - GDMOs)

• Induction Rank: Flight Lieutenant

• Age Limit (on October 15, 2026): 25 to 35 years

• Nationality: Male or Female citizens of Pakistan

• Educational Qualification: MBBS with minimum 1st Division or equivalent grading from a PMDC-recognized institution.

• Experience: Completed at least 1 year of mandatory house job in an institution recognized by the PMDC. (Preference is given to candidates with relevant field experience post-house job).

• Special Eligibility: Candidates who have cleared their FCPS Part-I examination after December 2025 are fully eligible to apply.

Ineligibility Conditions

Candidates meeting any of the following parameters are strictly disqualified from applying:

• ISSB Rejections:

  • Twice rejected by Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) for Postgraduate Entry.

  • Screened out twice by ISSB.

  • Accumulating combinations of rejections across ISSB and service headquarters boards (GHQ/NHQ/AHQ) as outlined in standard military induction guidelines.

  • Thrice screened out by the Army, Navy, or Air Force during preliminary selection.

• Medical Disqualifications:

  • Permanently declared unfit by the Appeal Medical Board (UNFIT by AMB).

  • Declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis B or Hepatitis C (AMB appeal cannot be requested for these cases).

• Service & Legal Records:

  • Dismissed, removed, or debarred from any Government Service including the Armed Forces.

  • Convicted in a Court of Law for any heinous offense.

  • Withdrawn from any bonded Armed Forces institution/college on disciplinary grounds, or discharged/resigned/purchased release from any military training academy.

• Fraudulent Practices: Any tampering of academic certificates, forgery, or concealment of facts leads to permanent ineligibility for any type of commission.

• Testing Gap: Candidates tested within a 4-month (120 days) gap of a previous ISSB appearance (unless a waiver is granted). This 120-day restriction does not apply to candidates appearing before GHQ/NHQ/AHQ selection boards.

Step-by-Step Selection Procedure

The selection process is progressive; candidates must pass each stage to advance:

 

1.Online Registration:June 02 to June 14, 2026.

Register online through the official portal during the valid dates.

2.Preliminary Screening Tests:At respective I&SC.

Undergo an initial Intelligence Test followed immediately by an Academic Test in your relevant medical subjects.

3.Initial Physical & Medical Checks:At respective I&SC.

Pass the preliminary medical examination, standard physical efficiency tests, and an initial interview.

4.Psychological Assessment:Shortlisted candidates only.

Take a comprehensive psychological examination evaluating aptitude for military service.

5.Air Headquarters (AHQ) Board Interview:Regional Centers.

Appear for an interview before the AHQ Selection Board conducted at Rawalpindi, Lahore, or Karachi.

6.Central Medical Board (CMB):Lahore.

Undergo a detailed final medical examination at CMB Lahore to secure absolute fitness clearance.

7.Final AHQ Selection Board:Islamabad.

Attend the decisive final interview with the AHQ Selection Board in Islamabad.

8.Merit-Based Final Selection:Air Headquarters.

Final induction orders are issued by AHQ strictly in order of cumulative merit.
