Vacant Position – Controller of Examinations (COE)

The Institute of Space Technology (IST), Islamabad, invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the statutory position of Controller of Examinations (COE) on a contract basis.

Position Details

• Post Title: Controller of Examinations (COE)

• Pay Scale: EBPS-20 (Equivalent to BPS-20)

• Number of Posts: 01

• Contract Period: 03 Years (Renewable)

• Maximum Age Limit: 50 Years

• Duty Station: Islamabad

Required Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Administrative Sciences / other relevant disciplines

• First Division from an HEC-recognized university

• No third division throughout the entire academic career

  • CGPA less than 2.00/4.00 (semester system), or

  • Aggregate percentage less than 50% (annual system) will not be accepted

Required Experience

• Minimum:

  • 14 years post-qualification experience (for candidates with 16 years of education), OR

  • 12 years post-qualification experience (for candidates with 18 years of education)

• Experience must include:

  • At least 5 years in an equivalent senior position

  • Relevant experience in academics, establishment, and administrative matters

Preferred Attributes

Candidates with foreign qualifications/experience and outstanding academic or professional credentials will be preferred.

The ideal candidate should:

1. Effectively manage the operations of the Institute’s Examinations Department.

2. Have thorough knowledge of examination systems in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) / Degree Awarding Institutes (DAIs).

3. Be well-versed in HEC policies related to:

   • Conduct of examinations

   • Award of grades and transcripts

   • Issuance of degrees

   • Handling disciplinary cases

   • Role in convocations and statutory meetings

4. Be familiar with the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in examination systems.

5. Possess strong leadership, communication, presentation, and team management skills.
