CAREER OPPORTUNITY: CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER (CTO) – GHCL

GENCO Holding Company Limited (GHCL), under the Ministry of Energy (GoP), seeks high-caliber, energetic, and result-oriented professionals for the position of Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at the Head Office, Islamabad. The selected candidate will be part of the Senior Management Team and will handle challenging assignments in the best interest of the company.

Area of Responsibility

  • Oversee operation & maintenance of large power generation plants.

  • Demonstrate leadership, change management, and team-building skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work as a team player and foster a productive environment.

  • Act as an agent of change and implement best administrative practices for operational efficiency.

  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, system operations, and power sector market dynamics.

  • Understanding of political, legislative, and social sensitivities to ensure corporate social responsibility and sustainable growth.

Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical) from a recognized institution.

  • PEC Registration mandatory.

  • Knowledge of financial data is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 20 years overall experience in the Power Generation Sector.

  • At least 10 years in Thermal Power Generation, including:

    • Leadership in O&M and Technical Management of large thermal power plants.

    • Generation asset management.

    • Supervision of dismantling and disposal of power plants.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s in Engineering or MBA from a reputable institute.

Tenure, Remuneration & Reporting

  • Contract Duration: 2 years (extendable based on performance).

  • Reporting To: CEO/MD GHCL.

  • Salary: Negotiable, market-based package depending on qualifications and experience.
