Azad Jammu And Kashmir Public Service Commission AJKPSC wasw established in March , 1976. The first Chairman of AJKPSC was Mr. Ghulam Muhayyudin (CSP) Chief Advisor to Ministry of Kashmir Affairs. Azad Jammu & Kashmir Act 1974(48) Public Service is a constitutional Institution and its functions include conducting test and examinations for recruitment to the civil services of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and to advise the President on matters relating to qualification for and method of recruitment to, the services and posts referred to in clause and any other matter which the President may refer to the commission. The commission has set certain rules regarding the selection of the civil services and civil posts in the affairs of the Government under grades 16 and above and the government recruited posts will be referred to commission. Azad Govt. of the State of Jammu & Kashmir was established in December 28, 1950, and from then the first rules to be implemented were set on basis of the Azad Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission works. The jobs provided by AJKPSC are selected by president of the commission and all the selections are made on merit. Any employees pay is decided on the scale of his/hers grade.
