VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

QUAID-E-AZAM CHAIR IN PAKISTAN STUDIES AT HONG KONG BAPTIST UNIVERSITY, HONG KONG SAR

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), is inviting applications to fill the prestigious position of "Quaid-e-Azam Chair in Pakistan Studies" at Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong.

BASIC ELIGIBILITY

Academic Rank

Must hold the rank of Associate Professor or above.

Should have experience working in public or private universities in Pakistan.

Educational Qualifications

A Ph.D. degree from an HEC-recognized university/institution in one of the following fields:

Urdu Language

Urdu Literature

Pakistan Studies

History

Political Science

International Relations

International Trade

Development Economics

Professional Experience

A minimum of 10 years of teaching/research experience in a recognized university or research organization.

Publications

At least 10 relevant publications in HEC-recognized journals.

Nationality

Must be a Pakistani National Scholar.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Age Limit

Maximum age of 58 years on the closing date of this advertisement.

Communication Skills

Strong proficiency in English, especially in oral and written communication.

Cultural Understanding

Familiarity with the culture, institutions, and people of Hong Kong.

Leadership Qualities

Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives that promote Pakistani language, history, and culture in the host country.

Research and Outreach

Experience in organizing independent research symposia, seminars, research grant management, and conferences/workshops.

Strong capacity for social outreach to promote Pakistani culture.

Public Relations and Diplomacy

Experience in mentoring, advocacy, diplomacy, and handling public forums.

Professional Memberships

Membership in relevant professional or academic bodies, with documentary evidence.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in essential computer skills.

Social and Interpersonal Skills

Ability to project a positive image of Pakistan through effective interpersonal relations.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Tenure

The initial appointment will be for a period of three (03) years on a deputation or contract basis, extendable up to two years on a yearly basis, contingent on quarterly performance evaluations.

Pay and Allowances

Pay and allowances will be equivalent to BS-20 or BS-21 as per the Government of Pakistan's prescribed terms and conditions.
