INTRODUCTION

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates having Punjab Domicile for appointment on contract basis for the following posts of Punjab Forensic Science Authority, Lahore, and its Satellite Stations. The contract is for a period of one year.

POSTS DETAILS

SENIOR POSITIONS

1. Additional Director General (Forensics) – Special Pay Package

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 42–55 years

• Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • (i) Ph.D. in Forensic Science or Chemistry or Physics or Genetics or Molecular Biology with M.Sc. in relevant field from a university recognized by HEC; and

  • (ii) Seven years' relevant working experience; and

  • (iii) Seven publications in relevant peer-reviewed journals.

2. Director Forensic – Special Pay Package

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 35–50 years

• Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • (i) Ph.D. in Forensic Science or Chemistry or Physics or Genetics or Molecular Biology from a university recognized by HEC; and

  • (ii) Seven years' experience of work in any forensic lab of international repute.

3. Manager (Pathology & Histology) – Special Pay Package

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 40–55 years

• Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • (i) MBBS or equivalent qualification i.e., M.Phil. (Pathology or Histopathology) or equivalent qualification recognized by PMDC/PMC; and

  • (ii) Post-graduate Level II qualification i.e., M.Phil. (Pathology or Microbiology) or equivalent qualification from Diploma of American Board (Pathology, Histopathology or Microbiology); and

  • (iii) Four years' experience in a reputable pathology, histopathology or microbiology laboratory.

4. Forensic Scientist (Firearm & Tool Marks)

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 28–35 years

• Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • (i) MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Chemistry from an institution recognized by HEC; and

  • (ii) Three years' relevant experience in an accredited forensic laboratory.

5. Forensic Scientist (Internal Finger Print)

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 28–35 years

• Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • (i) MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Chemistry or Pharm-D from an institution recognized by HEC; and

  • (ii) Three years' relevant experience in an accredited forensic laboratory.

6. Forensic Scientist (Questioned Document)

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 28–35 years

• Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • (i) MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Chemistry from a recognized university; and

  • (ii) Three years' relevant experience in an accredited forensic laboratory.

7. Forensic Scientist (Polygraphy)

• Total Posts: 03 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 28–35 years

• Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • (i) MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Clinical Psychology from a recognized university; and

  • (ii) Three years' relevant experience in an accredited forensic laboratory.

8. Forensic Scientist (Photography)

• Total Posts: 03 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 28–35 years

• Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • (i) MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Graphic Design or Photography from a university recognized by HEC; and

  • (ii) Three years' relevant experience in an accredited forensic laboratory.

9. Forensic Scientist (Toxicology)

• Total Posts: 03 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 28–35 years

• Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • (i) MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Chemistry or Pharmacology or Pharmaceutical Chemistry from HEC-recognized university; and

  • (ii) Three years' relevant experience in an accredited forensic laboratory.

10. Forensic Scientist (DNA & Serology)

• Total Posts: 06 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 28–35 years

• Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • (i) MS or M.Phil. (second division) in Biotechnology or Forensic Science or Molecular Biology or Genetics from HEC-recognized university; and

  • (ii) Three years' relevant experience in an accredited forensic laboratory.

• Note: Special course work (four credit hours each) in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Population Statistics is mandatory for both sexes.

11. Forensic Scientist (Histology)

• Total Posts: 04 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 30–40 years

• Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • (i) MBBS or M.Phil. (second division) in Pathology or Histopathology or Histotechnology from a university recognized by PMDC; and

  • (ii) Three years' relevant experience in an accredited forensic laboratory.

12. Forensic Scientist (Crime & Death Scene Investigation)

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 28–35 years

• Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • (i) MBBS or M.Phil. (second division) in Forensic Medicine or Pathology from a university recognized by PMDC; and

  • (ii) Three years' relevant experience in an accredited forensic laboratory.

13. Junior Forensic Scientist (Firearm & Tool Marks)

• Age Limit: 23–35 years

• Minimum Qualification: M.Sc. or M.Phil. (second division) in Physics or B.Sc. in Physics with specialization in Ballistics and Firearms from HEC-recognized university.

14. Junior Forensic Scientist (Toxicology)

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 23–35 years

• Minimum Qualification: M.Sc. or M.Phil. (second division) in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Pharmaceuticals or Pharmaceutics (Chemistry or Pharmaceutics) from HEC-recognized university.

15. Junior Forensic Scientist (Nanotox)

• Total Posts: 02 (Open Merit) (1 female candidate)

• Age Limit: 23–35 years

• Minimum Qualification: M.Sc. or M.Phil. (second division) in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Forensic Science or Pharmacology or Pharmaceutics from HEC-recognized university.

16. Junior Forensic Scientist (Crime & Death Scene Investigation)

• Total Posts: 01 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 23–35 years

• Minimum Qualification: M.Sc. or B.Sc. (Hons) (second division) in Chemistry or Biology or Forensic Science or Microscopy or Molecular Biology or Biotechnology or Zoology or Environmental Science or Food Technology or Nutrition or Economics from HEC-recognized university.

17. Junior Forensic Scientist (Computer Forensics)

• Total Posts: 03 (Open Merit)

• Age Limit: 23–35 years

• Minimum Qualification:

  • M.Sc. or M.Phil. (second division) in Computer Science or Information Technology or Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Computer System Engineering from HEC-recognized university; OR

  • B.Sc. (Hons) (second division) in Computer Science or Information Technology or Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Computer System Engineering from HEC-recognized university.

SALARY PACKAGE

Director Forensics	Rs. 750,000/- p.m. + 10% annual increase
Manager (Pathology & Histology)	Rs. 750,000/- p.m. + 10% annual increase
Forensic Scientist (Pathology & Histology)	Rs. 375,000/- p.m. + 10% annual increase (During Training half salary will be paid)
Forensic Scientist (other than Pathology & Histology)	Rs. 350,000/- p.m. + 10% annual increase (During Training half salary will be paid)
Junior Forensic Scientists	Rs. 200,000/- p.m. + 10% annual increase (During training half salary will be paid)

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

a) Only male candidates can apply for the posts of Forensic Scientist (Crime & Death Scene Investigation) & Junior Forensic Scientist (Crime & Death Scene Investigation) (Sr. 12 & 16).

b) Special course work (four credit hours each) in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Population Statistics from an HEC-recognized university are mandatory for both sexes of qualifications prescribed for the post of Forensic Scientist (DNA & Serology) (Sr# 10).

c) All posts including the post of Forensic Scientists (Pathology & Histology) are full-time in nature and require continuous engagement and observance of regular working hours.

d) In case a candidate wishes to apply for more than one post, he/she shall be required to submit separate online application forms along with separate processing fees.

e) The submission/uploading of all required academic transcripts and degrees is compulsory. Applications submitted without complete transcripts shall be considered incomplete and rejected without assigning any reason.

f) The above positions are offered on contract basis for three years (renewable) under the Contract Appointment Policy 2004 of the Government of the Punjab.

g) General age relaxation shall be applicable in maximum/upper age limit as per prevailing policies of Govt. of the Punjab.

h) The Competent Authority reserves the right to increase, decrease OR cancel the number of posts against above mentioned each category at any stage.
