‘Youth Innovation Event’ To Be Held in IBA University Sukkur

The event will be held in IBA University Sukkur campus from 8 to 9 October. It is organized by Distinguish Innovation Commercialization Entrepreneur (DICE) Foundation. It is funded by National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Allied Bank, JS Bank, TCS, HUM Network and others. The other organizers of the event were British Council, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Fatima Jinnah Women University (Rawalpindi), and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority. The attendants of the event included 150 delegations from higher education institutions, technical and vocational training institutes and corporate sector.

Historical Background of IBA University

IBA came into being in 1955 as a business school. Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania; later, the University of Southern California were its initial supporters. They provided and funded technical facilities and support, also eminent professors belonging from lofty American Universities were sent to work in IBA. Besides this, the syllabus, teaching and examination method, and instructions relating to education system all was planned in accordance to specialists of these reputed Universities. IBA continued to keep up with the standards set by Wharton and USC until today. In 1994, Sindh Assembly gave IBA a status of degree-awarding institute, before that graduates were awarded degrees from University of Karachi. Numerous law colleges and universities are introduced over the years, but IBA has kept his position tall among them. It’s one of the oldest law college and remarkably successful in field of Management and Business Administration learning. IBA kept making regular procession and added more departments to its expertise such as; - Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Operations Research, Artificial Intelligence, Cryptography, Numerical Analysis and Numerical Computing courses. Babson College in Boston which is regarded as the most sought after entrepreneurship institute in USA has been collaborating with IBA for 10 years now. Former president , Mamnoon HUssain, Former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Former Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair, Current Federal Finance Minister Of Pakistan Asad Umer, Former Minister of Education Irfanullah Khan Marwat, Director General, National Accountability Bureau Altaf Bawanay and Country Chairman, Shell Pakistan Limited Omar Yaqoob Sheikh. IBA has set very strict plagiarism policy for research work of students, which is one of the many reasons for its degree’s worldwide acclamation. The rules of Admissions continuously updated under global trends and techniques. IBA makes modifications in its planning and strategy policies for competing global standards.

Why Youth Innovation Events are important

In, ‘Youth Innovation Event’ held in IBA almost 200 stalls were showcased by students from several Colleges and Universities, the students present their innovated ideas. These kinds of events encourage students to work on their distinguished talents. The participants get exposure and appreciation which equips them with confidence to thrive in world. The future of any nation depends on its youth; such events instill qualities of creativity, leadership and innovation in them. The organizer of the event is Distinguish Innovation Commercialization Entrepreneur (DICE) Foundation, a non-profit organization registered in Michigan, USA. Member of National Assembly (MNA) Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah, who was also one of the attendant of the event emphasized at its importance by saying, “It’s all about innovation and materializing ideas.”
