For Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT):

First, Second, and Third Professional exams are set for February 2026.

This structured examination calendar provides much-needed clarity for students and affiliated institutions, ensuring there are no overlaps or uncertainties in academic progression.

New Academic Session for BS Allied Health Sciences

The UHS Board also announced that the Fall 2025 classes for BS Allied Health Sciences will officially commence on October 16, 2025. This early announcement is designed to help affiliated colleges and students prepare in advance for admissions, course planning, and academic activities.

With the growing demand for skilled professionals in Allied Health fields, this initiative is expected to strengthen the overall academic framework and give students a well-defined academic roadmap.

Enrollment Policy for Undergraduate Programs

In addition to the examination calendar, the board also finalized a crucial admission policy for undergraduate programs at affiliated colleges. It was unanimously decided that no undergraduate program will be launched at any affiliated institution unless at least ten students are enrolled.

This decision aims to:

Ensure efficient utilization of academic resources.

Maintain academic standards by avoiding under-enrolled classes.

Provide a healthy academic environment for both teachers and students.

By setting this minimum enrollment requirement, UHS seeks to improve the quality of education and discourage colleges from running programs with inadequate class sizes, which could compromise the learning experience.

Importance of Allied Health Sciences in Pakistan

The announcement holds special importance given the increasing role of Allied Health professionals in Pakistan’s healthcare system. Programs such as Doctor of Physical Therapy and BS Allied Health Sciences are essential in training skilled professionals who support doctors, nurses, and specialists in delivering holistic healthcare.

With advancements in medical sciences, the demand for allied health experts in fields like physiotherapy, radiology, laboratory sciences, and operation theatre technology has increased significantly. UHS’s proactive step in finalizing a comprehensive exam schedule reflects its commitment to maintaining academic discipline and preparing students to meet both national and international healthcare standards.

Role of UHS Leadership

The meeting, chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahsan Waheed Rathore, highlighted the university’s focus on academic excellence, transparent examinations, and quality assurance. Addressing the session, the Vice Chancellor emphasized that timely examinations and standardized policies are crucial for ensuring the credibility of health sciences education.

Similarly, contributions from Dr. Saba Khaliq (Board Convener), Prof. Dr. Nadia Naseem (Pro Vice Chancellor), and Registrar Kiran Fatima ensured that the decisions were inclusive, practical, and aligned with the university’s vision. The active participation of principals from affiliated colleges also reinforced the collaborative nature of academic planning at UHS.

Impact on Students and Colleges

For students, this announcement provides much-needed clarity regarding their academic timelines. Advanced knowledge of exam schedules will allow them to prepare systematically, reduce uncertainty, and focus on achieving better academic results.

For affiliated colleges, the examination calendar and enrollment policy will help in improving course planning, managing faculty resources, and aligning semester activities with UHS guidelines. It also reduces the risk of delays that often affect academic calendars in higher education institutions.

The University of Health Sciences’ decision to finalize the examination calendar for DPT and BS Allied Health Sciences programs is a landmark development for both students and affiliated institutions. With clear exam schedules, defined class commencement dates, and minimum enrollment requirements, UHS is ensuring that academic standards remain high and consistent across all affiliated colleges.
