The US Government Drops The Restrictions On the Foreign Students For Online Classes

On Tuesday in Boston, the Federal Judge has announced that the Trump administration has cancelled its policies to restrict the international students taking online classes while staying in the US.

The decision has taken a week after the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE has revealed that international students including Pakistani students enrolled in the institutes, that are offering online classes due to the pandemic, would have to leave the US or they have to transfer their schools where in-person classes are conducting.

What's The New Policy Decided?

The resources are saying that the blowback has felt by the government of the US to the proposal. However, it is believing by some inside of the West Wing that it was perceived poorly and executed. Another source comes with the new policy according to which the White House is focusing to apply the rule only on the new students and students already residing in the US will not be affected at all. Alison Boroughs, the US District Judge has revealed that the return policy by the administration provides more flexibility to the international students studying through the schools that are switched to online classes due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Well, it is considered as the revised policy is the reprieve for more than one million international students including Pakistani students studying in the US.

ICE Final Statement For International Students

For Pakistani students and all other international students, the visa requirements have always been strict by ICE and students planning to come to the US for online classes are considering to be prohibited. The prohibition is maintained by the ICE in its July 6 guidance. However, the relaxation is providing to some hybrid models, (a mix of in-person and online classes).

The agency is still suggesting students transfer their course in the school offering in-person studies. The agency further reveals that if schools would not open due to pandemic and will continue the online classes then we do not expect international students to stay here.
