Peshawar: In spite of the tall claims of the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of best work as well as improvement in the educational zone, not a single aspirant from a public sector school make their place in the top list of SSC exams result 2017, showing the gap between government and the private sector schools.

Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Peshawar (BISE Peshawar) on Wednesday declared the matric result 2017.

According to the officials of BISE Peshawar board 149,212 aspirants appeared in the exams as private and regular candidates, out of which just 65% candidates passed the exams.

Total 76,747 aspirants appeared as regular and private candidates for class 9th exams out of which 44,853 were declared as successful along with the passing percentage of 58.44%.

Likewise, total 72,467 aspirants appeared in the class 10th exam as regular and private candidates. Out of these total candidates 52,672 passed their exams along with the passing percentage of 72.68 %.

Though, the students of government sector schools failed to get any position in the top ten.

Science Group Position Holders:

In science group, a student from the Frontier Scouts Cadet College in Warsak, Umar Anwar obtained first position by obtaining 1,048 marks out of total 1,100 marks.

Likewise, a student from the Peshawar Model School in Charsadda, Jalwa Akbar and a student of Frontier Science Academy in Hayatabad, Karishma Basir obtained second and third positions respectively by securing 1,047 and 1,045 marks respectively.

Humanities Group Position Holders:

In humanities group, a student of Iqra Huffaz Secondary School and College for Girls, Hafiza Ayesha obtained 1,001 marks and secured first position.

Hafsa Ali and Hafiza Huda Habib from the same school clinched second and third position respectively by obtaining 977 and 990 marks respectively.

KPK Assembly Deputy Speaker Meher Taj Roghani congratulated the toppers of exams, their parents as well as the principals of various educational institutions.

Earlier, the chairperson of BISE Peshawar board Professor Dr Fazlur Rehman congratulated the successful candidates.

While addressing he said that for the first time, Peshawar board had tested the new system of sending result through SMS to the cell phones of students.

Afterwards, the position holders were awarded with prizes and medals.
