Hyderabad: In Sunday, a special meeting of the Syndicate of Sindh University in Jamshoro approved the plagiarism policy as well as the rules of Higher Education Commission (HEC) over sexual harassment.
As per the issued press release, the meeting was presided over by Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat whereas the members of syndicate were present in the meeting.

Moreover, the meeting passed a resolution to implement the plagiarism strategy of higher education commission in letter and spirit.
The syndicate under section 3 of Protection of Women against Harassment at Workplace Act, 2010, set up an investigation committee consisting three members.
The committee consists of the Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Dr Nagina Parveen, the registrar of Sindh University Sajid Qayoom Memon as well as the Director STAGS.

Dr Sumera Umrani, will investigate the recent harassment cases in which some teachers were involved. The syndicate via resolution also adopted the policy guiding principle of higher education commission against the Sexual Harassment in higher learning educational institute.
For this purpose, the syndicate allowed the vice chancellor to set up the 10-member Hearing Panel.
The syndicate also supported the decision of vice chancellor for permitting the burial of well-known scholar as well as the writer Muhammad Ibrahim Joyo near the mausoleum of Allama I.I. Kazi in the premises of Sindh University.
