The Sindh government has reopened the schools for the students of classes 6 to 8 from today 15th June 2021 across the province. According to the Sindh education minister, the situation of the coronavirus has improved due to which the decision regarding the reopening of the schools has been taken. He furthermore said that the students from primary to 5th class will attend the classes from 21st June 2021. The coronavirus positivity ratio in Karachi and Hyderabad is more than 5% but the situation of COVID-19 is under control due to the vaccination. Earlier the classes for the students of grades 9 to 12 had been resumed from 7th June 2021. The Punjab government had also reopened the educational institutes for the students from the last week.
Directives Issued By Education Minister
The education minister has said that the students will attend the classes on the alternative days as the government has allowed to run the classes with only 50% attendance. Moreover, the authorities have ensured the strict implementation of SOPs in all the educational institutes. Furthermore, vaccination for all school teachers is mandatory according to the instructions provided by the Sindh government.
The Decision of NCOC
Earlier the meeting of the national command and operation center was held in which it had been decided to shut down the educational institutes till 7th June 2021 due to the rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases. It is pertinent to mention here that by considering the ongoing situation of COVID-19 the physical classes across Pakistan have been resumed however the government has urged the teachers and staff members of the school to get vaccinated on a priority basis to minimize the spread of the pandemic.
