Today, On Friday, The Sindh government decides to postpone the second phase of the reopening of schools due to the uncontrollable situation of the Covid-19 pandemic. While speaking to the media, the Sindh education minister Saeed Ghani told that the prescribed standard operating procedures, SOPs are not following 100% in government schools. That is why the government is not satisfied with the reopening of schools at lower classes level. However, the situations will be analyzed in the next week, and based on this analysis the final decision about the reopening of primary and middle classes will be taken.

Previous Schedule For Reopening Of Schools

In the previously announced reopening schedule, it was decided that the middle classes will resume from the 21st of September and the primary classes will be resuming from the 30th of September. However, now, it is decided that the middle classes may be resumed from the 28th of September. But, if the situations will not be fair the delay period may be extended. It is explained that the government will make no compromise on students’ health.

Expectations For New Schedule

Sindh is considered as the most victimized province with the Covid-19 pandemic as compared to other provinces including Punjab, KPK, and Baluchistan. However, after the reopening of the higher educational institutes throughout the country, it has seen that the situation is getting worse to some extent. Recently, 22 higher educational institutes were closed because of the violating of the SOPs. However, the government of Sindh and the education ministry has explained that they are still analyzing the situations and will come with a possible solution in the coming weeks.
