Punjab University has postponed the annual examinations of BA/BSc & Associate Degree Part 1 and 2 and MA/MSc Part 1. The university has taken this decision in light of the instructions issued after the meeting of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC). Previously the exams of BA/BSc & Associate Degree were scheduled from November 26 while the examinations of MA/MSc Part 1, scheduled to commence from December 23, but now the exams have been deferred. Punjab University is one of the largest educational institutes that conduct the exams of the bachelors and masters every year. This year the exams got postponed due to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

 NCOC Meeting

The NCOC meeting was held on 23rd November to discuss the situation of the COVID-19 and its impact on the educational institutes. The meeting was attended by the federal education minister, Shafqat Mahmood, and the inter provincial education ministers. The decision was taken unanimously by all the ministers after evaluating the data recorded by the health department that showed the rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases. The minister announced to close all the educational institutes across Pakistan from 26th November. The pronouncement must be followed by all schools, colleges, universities, tuition centers, seminaries without any exception. Furthermore, it is also directed that the students will take the online classes according to the schedule provided by the authorities. 

New Schedule For Examinations

A new schedule for the PU annual examinations of BA/BSc and MA/MSc would be announced later. The authorities have not declared any final date of the examinations up till now. The students have to wait for the declaration of the concerned officials to learn about the revised exam schedule.
