Punjab government plans to establish new medical universities in Multan & Rawalpindi

Islamabad: The government of Punjab has taken a decision to establish two new medical universities in Rawalpindi and in Multan.

As per the sources, the government has taken the final decision in this regard.

According to the sources, Punjab has just two medical universities in spite of having a population of 120 million.

An inter-university board will be established as well to ensure the quality education, said sources.

Rawalpindi Medical College and Nishtar Medical College would become the constituent colleges of the projected universities respectively, they said.

After the establishment of these new universities, the province would be better equipped to educate those seeking the medical training, said sources.
