Punjab government has issued the directives to shut down the public and private schools till Eid. In this regard, a notification has been issued by the school education department in which the provincial government notified regarding the closure of all the educational institutes across the province. The institutes in all the districts of Punjab will remain closed due to the prevailing situation of COVID-19 as there has been a rapid increase in the number of coronavirus cases. Apart from the closure of the educational institutes the Punjab government has also put a ban on other activities in the wake of the spread of the pandemic. According to the notification issued by the primary and secondary healthcare department, the essential services will remain open.
The decision of Balochistan Government
The Balochistan government has also announced to close down all the public and private educational institutes till Eid-ul-Fitr. The notification regarding the decision of the government has been shared by the spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani on his Twitter account.
Postponement of Exams
Moreover, the federal minister for education and professional training, Shafqat Mahmood has announced to postpone all the exams till 15th June. Earlier the meeting of the national command and operation Centre was held in which the provincial education ministers had decided about the postponement of exams by considering the overall situation of COVID-19. It has been informed to the students that the education minister has notified that the exams will be held and students will not be promoted based on the promotion policy. For the commencement of exams revised schedule will be issued by the board authorities. Furthermore O and A level exams will be held in October/November series 2021. However, the A2 exams will be held as per the schedule and the minister has ensured the strict implementation of SOPs in all the examination centers.
