Lahore: Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Lahore (BISE Lahore) as well as other boards of Punjab announced Matric examination results 2016 on Wednesday.

A grand ceremony in honor of position holders was organized at Alhamra Hall. The minister for Education Rana Khushnood was the chief guest of the ceremony.

Cash prizes, medals as well as certificates were distributed among the position holders of SSC annual exams 2016 at the ceremony.

The chairperson of BISE Lahore board, Dr Muhammad Nasrullah Virk greeted the honorable guests as well as announced the results of the exams.

As per the detailed result, 214711 candidates were appeared in the exams out of which 153478 candidates declared successful and hence the passing percentage for these exams remained at 71.48%.

Further details said that, total 102780 appeared in science group exams out of which 131161 candidates passed the exams and the passing percentage in science group remained 78.36% whereas 50698 candidates appeared in arts group out of which 83550 candidates remained successful in Arts Group and the passing parentage remained 60.68.

In the prize distribution ceremony, the position holders were awarded with Gold, Silver and Browns Medals together with cash prizes of Rs20, 000, Rs15, 000 and Rs10, 000 respectively.

On the other hand, BISE Rawalpindi board also arranged the ceremony for prize distribution among position holders. Rawalpindi board also announced the result of SSC part 2 annual exams 2016 on Wednesday.

The prize distribution ceremony was held at Government Postgraduate College, Satellite Town, to award the toppers.

Provincial Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar was the chief guest on the occasion whereas chairperson BISE Rawalpindi board Dr Zareef, Secretary Rana Javed, controller examination, media manager Arslan Cheema, MPAs Raja Hanif Advocate Zaibun Nisa as well as Tehseen Fawad, ex-MPA Sardar Nasim, Chairman Green Task Force Dr Jamal Nasir, Rahat Qudusi, position holders and their parents and teachers were also present.

While addressing the ceremony, Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar urged the students to outshine in education for the success of the country as well as for the welfare of nation.
