Punjab Skills Development Fund and leading online course provider Coursera have agreed to provide free online courses to the youth. No fees will be charged from students to complete these courses. Upon completion, students will be awarded certifications as well. PSDF has also decided to give a stipend of Rs. 6000/- to those students who complete the course. According to the details, the FDCO and the Government of Punjab will provide funds to PSDF so it can provide this amazing opportunity of free online courses to the students.
PSDF Coursera Announcement
The announcement was made during the online keynote by the CEO of Coursera in the Virtual Conference. The CEO of PSDF Jawad Khan added his remarks on this occasion. He mentioned that the situation created by COVID-19 this year calls for the involvement of digital learning in the traditional teaching system of the country. He told that PSDF has once again proven to be a leader of teaching skills in the country as PSDF will now bring the amazing opportunity of learning online so millions of people can learn and earn from their homes in the country.
CEO Coursera Jeff Maggioncalda added that Coursera is excited to work with PSDF, the largest skill development organization in Pakistan. He said that this partnership will enable the people of Pakistan to get better and earn more with online learning. He also added that the circumstances created by COVID-19 have limited the masses to work from home. According to the CEO of Coursera, this partnership will train and make the citizens of Pakistan stand tall in the online job market.
