Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui told the administrations of private schools on Thursday to take away the decision of increase in fee that they had announced for the current academic year.

He said that the schools could not increase fees without taking permission from the government, after holding a meeting along with the legislatures of private schools. Directors of the schools were also present in the meeting.

The commissioner said parents were upset with the increase in fee and remonstrating for that decision to take away. Siddiqui moreover said that, the establishments had taken notice of the condition and will take steps to address it.

The action comes after the topical ‘No Fee Till Low Fee’ protests through parents who have been challenging an end to the incessantly rising the boredom of fee. That protest was held by parents in the Karimabad area on Wednesday.
