Prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan has launched the Rehmatul-Lil Alameen scholarship program for students across the country. The program will facilitate the students of the underprivileged areas of Pakistan so that they can get an education. The main purpose is to educate the students that help them to grow in their academic careers and they can play a significant role in the development of the country. Through this program, the students will be to access undergraduate education. According to the prime minister, the worth of the Rehmatul-Lil Alameen Scholarship Program is Rs27.93bn.
Scholarships For Students
The prime minister has made this announcement while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Rehmatul-Lil Alameen Scholarship Program. He said that 70,000 scholarships will be provided to the students every year and the government will spend Rs. 5.5 bn. Imran Khan has highlighted the importance of education as it is necessary for the progress of the nation and the country will not develop without the educated people. It has been further added that the government will provide the best learning opportunities to all the students by offering them scholarships. The program has been launched with the assistance of the higher education commission and students will be selected on the basis of merit.
According to the sources, the program will be implemented in the various public sector universities of the country. For this purpose, the government has approved Rs. 27.93 billion as the program will be introduced at the national level for the next five years. Earlier the Punjab government had announced the Rehmatul-Lil Alameen scholarship program for the students of intermediate and undergraduate. As per the announcement of CM Punjab, 14,891 students will be selected for the scholarship from the various districts of Punjab. Besides the province of Punjab other provinces are also pursuing the scholarship program and the Khyber government will also launch the Rehmatul-Lil Alameen scholarship program soon. For Punjab, the government has approved one billion rupees for the scholarship program.
