Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced the largest ever need-based scholarship. In this program, Prime Minister has also informed that 50,000 scholarships will be given to deserving students every year.
Scholarships Through Ehsaas Program
Under Ehsaas Program, 50,000 scholarships will be given to the students every year and 200,000 scholarships over the next four years, Imran Khan said in a tweet.
For women to promote human capital development 50% of scholarships will be given.
Aims of Ehsaas For Students
Ehsaas for Students' is another project of the government's social welfare program Ehsaas. The main aim of this program is to provide scholarships to about 200,000 students from lower-income families over the next four years. The government will award 50,000 scholarships every year, half of which will be granted to women, the prime minister said in a tweet.
The project aims to ensure that no student is deprived of education because of financial need. Scholarships will be awarded to students admitted to any public sector university on merit, whose family income is below poverty threshold.
How Ehsaas Will Help Undergraduate Students
The purpose for which Prime Minister has announced the Ehsaas program is to help students. The largest-ever needs-based undergraduate scholarship program in the history of Pakistan today will aid thousands of students in their future careers.
In order to help undergraduate students, 200,000 scholarships will be awarded over the next 4 years.
Likewise, 50,000 every year, 50% of these for women to promote human capital development under Ehsaas Umbrella
Last Date To Apply For Scholarship Program
The program also encourages differently-abled students to apply and/or those who hail from rural or remote areas. The scholarship would cover the students' tuition fees and also provide them a stipend.
The deadline to apply for scholarships is 10th December 2019.
Other Welfare Projects By Ehsaas
Ehsaas is an ambitious social safety and poverty alleviation program launched by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government. Since the launch of the program earlier this year, the prime minister has inaugurated multiple welfare projects under Ehsaas' umbrella including Ehsaas-Saylani Langar Scheme and Panah-gah in order to provide food and shelter to the poor.
