PMC Warns Private Medical and Dental Colleges Regarding MBBS and BDS Admissions 2022
The Pakistan Medical Commission has warned the private medical and dental colleges regarding the MBBS and BDS admissions 2022. A letter has been sent to the Jinnah Sindh Medical University as the university is inviting applications from the candidates that want to take admission in the private medical and dental colleges across Sindh. The candidates are required to apply as per the instructions provided by the respective university and the students with 50% or higher in the MDCAT exam will be eligible to take the admission. The PMC has clarified that the JSMU has not advertised the MBBS and BDS admissions 2022 according to the PMC regulations and is also against the laws of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
PMC Act 2020
The PMC has said that the Jinnah Sindh Medical University and Admission Committee are not allowed to enroll the students against the admission regulations. According to the PMC Act 2020, the admissions to the private medical and dental colleges will be undertaken by the private colleges directly according to the announced admission criteria. It had been earlier stated that by the PMC that the Health Department of the Government of Sindh does not have any right to alter the admission criteria provided by the PMC. The candidates have to meet the mentioned requirements in order to secure admission to MBBS and BDS degree programs.
Private Medical and Dental Colleges
According to the announcement made by the PMC, each private medical or dental college in Pakistan must be recognized by the Pakistan Medical Commission. Moreover, each college is also answerable to the PMC in the case of any violation of the PMC Act 2020. The commission has informed all the private medical and dental colleges to not accept the admission of the candidates who do not fulfill the admission criteria. All private medical and dental colleges are strictly instructed to follow the instructions provided by the PMC regarding the MBBS and BDS admissions 2022.
