Pakistan Medical Commission has warned desirous students for MBBS BDS Admission in Foreign Medical or Dental Colleges that admission got by Pakistani students in any foreign medical or dental college shall be solely at their own cost and risk.
Recently, Secretary PMC has declared through a public notification that NO Foreign Medical or Dental College is recognized by the Commission for the Purpose of Section 21 (2) PMC Ordinance 2019 (Ordinance passed in October 2019). The Council has taken serious action of this issue to avoid Pakistani students instead of being misinformed by the advertisement or offers given by some foreign medical or dental colleges. Therefore, those students who are seeking to get MBBS BDS Admission in Abroad are informed by the PMC through a Public Notification that getting admission in a foreign medical or dental college will not guarantee the recognition of their MBBS or BDS degree in Pakistan until such time as the foreign medical or dental college or university is duly assessed and recognized by the Commission.
This decision was taken by the Medical & Dental Council of Pakistan after receiving various reports from the Foreign Mission of Pakistan in different countries emphasizing serious concerns relating to medical or dental colleges in foreign where Pakistani students are desirous for getting admissions but those foreign medical and dental colleges are not recognized by their national medical councils or regulatory authorities or standards of MBBS BDS program being followed in those foreign medical and dental colleges are well below of standards of medical education recognized and applicable in Pakistan for the grant of license to practice in the medical or dentistry profession.
