Pakistan Medical Commission has made the announcement regarding the admission process of public and private Medical and Dental Colleges for the session 2022. The commission has issued the eligibility criteria for the students that want to apply for the MBBS and BDS degree programs in the medical and dental colleges.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates that have passed the MDCAT 2021 with at least 65% marks are eligible to take admission in the MBBS/BDS. There are no exceptions in any public and private medical and dental college across Pakistan.
  • The candidates who have obtained 65% marks or more in the equivalenced MDCAT 2020 are also eligible to apply.
  • The candidates must have obtained 65% marks in the FSc pre-medical/ A levels and HSSC equivalent examination. The candidates having foreign qualifications are required to submit the equivalence certificate issued by IBCC.

Merit Calculation

According to the decision of the Ministry of Education, the PMC council has announced the following criteria that must be considered for the merit calculation of MBBS and BDS admissions 2021-2022.

  • The marks obtained in the three elective science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology will be considered for the merit calculation.
  • The actual marks obtained in the elective subjects in FSc pre-medical/ A levels and HSSC equivalent examination will be used by the commission. No grace marks will be added by any authority to the elective subjects.

Admission Process

Following admission process will be followed by the private colleges for BDS and MBBS admissions 2021-2022.

  • No college will charge an application fee of more than Rs.1000/- while applying for admission. No charges for the prospectus and interview will be charged from the students.
  • A college after receiving and processing all the applications for the admissions and conducting the interview must upload the merit list for the candidates who have applied for admission. There shall be no additional merit list issued by the authorities. 
  • The students shall have the right to accept the offer of admission as per their merit by the payment of a fee. The failure to accept admission will allow the candidate next in line to accept the admission. 
  • The student who has been assessed as eligible for the grant of the scholarship under the PMC National Scholarship Program or any other scholarship program will be required to pay only the college fee in addition to the scholarship value approved for the student.  
  • Each college will display a daily update for the students who have accepted their offers and the number of remaining seats after the issuance of the merit list.
  • No candidate will be allowed to accept the admission out of turn as per merit.

Important Note

  • The candidate who has applied for admission but their FSc and A level result is delayed due to the late exam will be considered for admission subject to such results being available prior to 10th February 2022. 
  • The candidates who have applied with their results available will be admitted on the provisional basis only on such seats till 10th February 2022.
  • If no candidate with a delayed result submits before 10th February 2022, the provisional admissions will be finalized.
