PMC Issues Test and Interview Policies for MBBS and BDS Admission in Medical and Dental Colleges

The Pakistan Medical Commission has issued the test and interview policies for MBBS and BDS admission in medical and dental colleges. The instructions have been provided for the candidates that they are required to follow while appearing in the interview. To secure admission in the private medical and dental colleges it is compulsory for the candidates to pass the interview in order to secure the MBBS/BDS admission. The medical and dental colleges that are conducting the interviews as a part of the admission process have to adhere to the Pakistan Medical Commission Medical and Dental Undergraduate Education Regulations 2021. 

Protocols and Policies

• The college according to its declared result, may conduct the aptitude test or interview of the candidates subject to the structure of the interview and aptitude test being provided to the authority in advance for review.
• All applying students will be provided enough time to appear in the interview and aptitude test and in the case of any conflict in the schedule between two colleges; the students will have the right to reschedule their test and interview.
• The candidates are notified that the test and interview can be conducted any time before the issuance of the final merit list.
• It is the responsibility of each college to maintain the record of each test and interview conducted by it along with sign confirmation by the applicant of having appeared in the test and interview as the case may be. The applicant must be given the receipt that they have appeared in the interview. The filled interview scoring form and the total score must be clearly visible on the form. The authority may call for the record of test and interview and the college has to provide such record. 
• The interview and the test conducted by the college will be for the evaluation of the academic aptitude of the student for the enrollment purpose in the medical and dental program and shall not in any seek to obtain or verify the candidate’s financial ability or any weightage be given to the financial capacity in the preparation of final list for BDS and MBBS admission.

Important Instructions.

After the announcement of the MDCAT 2021 result, the admission process has been started so that the candidates can get enrolled in public and private medical colleges. The admission schedule has been provided to the candidates by Pakistan Medical Commission. PMC has directed the institutions to adhere to the announced protocols and policies. The students are required to ensure that at the time of the interview they sign the interview form to confirm their presence in the interview. It is pertinent to mention here that no claim of having appeared in the interview will be acceptable if the interview form is not signed.
