PMC Issues Clarification On Intake Of Students With Late Results

The Pakistan Medical Commission has issued a clarification on the intake of students with late results. Earlier many students had submitted complaints to the commission that they cannot apply for the MBBS admissions and BDS admissions according to the provided schedule as their results have been delayed. Due to the COVID-19, the A level exam cannot be commenced on time and now the students have been waiting for the announcement of the result. So the candidates have been demanding to extend the dates announced in the admission schedule so that they can meet the admission criteria. 

MBBS and BDS Admissions

To address the concerns of the students the PMC has announced the one-time policy to accommodate such students and allowing the colleges and universities time till 10th February 2022 to consider the delay in the announcement of A level results or other HSSC exams so that the candidates can apply for MBBS and BDS admissions. The main purpose of the policy was to provide the opportunity to the candidates to acquire the basic eligibility requirement of having the HSSC qualification and to not waste the whole academic year.  

PMC Admission Policy

It is clarified that the policy is to accommodate the students who did have the chance to appear in the HSSC annual exam and to obtain the basic eligibility requirement of an HSSC qualification. The commission has said that the policy is applicable to only those students who have sat for their HSSC examination in October-November 2021for the first time and not as a repeat student to improve their marks or to pass the earlier failed exam in the same academic year. A student who has HSSC qualification at the time when the applications for admissions were due is required to apply on the basis of such earlier results.
