The Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) across Punjab have announced the results of the 9th Class Annual Examinations 2025 . This year, a total of over 1.8 million students appeared under the nine boards of the province. The overall outcome shows a positive trend compared to previous years, with a noticeable rise in the number of students achieving passing marks.

Total Students and Passing Ratio

Out of the 1.8 million students who sat for the exams, more than 1.16 million successfully passed. This sets the average provincial passing percentage at 64.37% , which is around 3% higher than 2024 . Education officials credit this improvement to better exam arrangements, revised evaluation methods, and a growing awareness among students about exam requirements.

Experts believe that small but steady reforms in Punjab’s education system, such as updated curricula, digital resources, and enhanced teacher training, are beginning to show results.

Reactions from Students and Teachers

The announcement of the results brought mixed feelings. Students who passed expressed relief and joy, while others vowed to work harder for the upcoming matriculation exams. Teachers highlighted that the overall improvement in results shows that students are gradually adapting to new teaching and evaluation methods.

Education experts also noted that the use of online resources, coaching centers, and digital tools has played a role in helping students perform better this year. However, they stressed the need for more attention to underperforming regions where students still face challenges such as lack of infrastructure and limited access to qualified teachers.

Way Forward

With passing percentages showing gradual improvement, Punjab’s education boards aim to strengthen exam transparency and promote better student support programs. Officials have announced that efforts will continue to modernize exam checking systems, introduce counseling facilities, and improve teacher training to ensure fairer and more effective assessments in the future.

The overall results of the 9th Class Annual Examinations 2025 not only reflect the hard work of students but also the continuing reforms in the province’s education system.
