The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has affirmed to launch officially the double-shift system school in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so that quality education could be made accessible to the children in far-flung and underprivileged regions as well.
According to the spokesperson of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Faraz Ahmad Mughal, the new initiative will operate a second shift in selected schools, ensuring that students from remote regions no longer have to face long commutes or overcrowded classrooms.
To successfully implement the double-shift school system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial education department will recruit more than 2,500 teachers on a temporary, contract basis. This includes 1,804 positions for primary level and 639 for secondary schools. Interested candidates can submit applications at their respective district education offices or through the education department’s official website.
Mughal highlighted that the provincial government has allocated a record budget for education this year, focusing on providing essential facilities in schools, enhancing teacher training, and adopting modern teaching methods. These measures aim to improve the overall standard of education across the province.
Special emphasis is also being placed on girls’ education under the double-shift school system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with plans to establish new girls’ schools and introduce scholarship schemes to encourage female students to continue their studies.
The spokesperson stressed that this program is part of a broader effort to uplift educational standards and ensure that every child, regardless of location, has access to quality learning opportunities.
