Pakistan is celebrating its 79th Independence Day today, August 14, with national spirit, enthusiasm and patriotic fervor across the country. The celebrations began at midnight as cities, towns and neighborhoods were illuminated in green and white, while citizens gathered at various locations to mark the historic occasion.

The day began with a 21-gun salute in Lahore and Quetta, followed by special prayers during Fajr for the country's peace, prosperity, unity and development. National flags were displayed prominently on buildings, streets and vehicles as people participated in Independence Day celebrations.

Independence Day Celebrations Across Pakistan

In Hyderabad, fireworks began shortly after midnight, with people taking to the streets to celebrate Independence Day. Multan also witnessed a colorful celebration, where the district administration organized a fireworks display at Ghanta Ghar Chowk.

21-Gun Salute and Special Prayers

The official celebrations started with a 21-gun salute in Lahore and Quetta. Special prayers were offered in mosques across the country for Pakistan's security, peace, prosperity and progress.

Guard Change Ceremony Held at Mazar-e-Quaid

A prestigious Guard Change Ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

Cadets from the Pakistan Naval Academy assumed guard duties at the mausoleum. Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy Rear Admiral Muhammad Umair attended the ceremony as the chief guest.

Pakistan Armed Forces Extend Independence Day Greetings

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal, Chief of Naval Staff and Chief of Air Staff extended their greetings to the nation on the 79th Independence Day.

The military leadership reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to defending the country against all threats. The armed forces reiterated their resolve to safeguard Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

ISPR stated that the vision and principles of the founders of Pakistan continue to inspire the nation to uphold the country's ideology and values. The armed forces also reaffirmed their commitment to working together with the nation to preserve peace and stability.
