More than 60% of students fail BA, BSc annual exams 2017

Lahore: Total 61.68% of the aspirants failed BA/BSc annual exams 2017 which were conducted under the supervision of University of the Punjab. The university announced BA/BSc annual exams result 2017 on September 07^th, 2017 (Thursday).

Away from the bad results, no position holder was from any government of private sector educational institute of Lahore whereas all the top positions in the exams were clinched by girls and no male aspirants succeeded in getting any top position.

As per the announced result by University of the Punjab, total 229,401 candidates appeared in the BA/BSc annual exams 2017. Out of the total aspirants, just 87,926 candidates passed the exams along with the overall passing percentage of 38.32%.

Total 133,892 candidates appeared in BA/BSc Part-I annual exams 2017, out of which 48,633 aspirants passed the exam along with the passing percentage of 36.32%.

In BA/BSc part 2 annual exams 2017, total 75,376 candidates appeared in the exam, out of which 33,154 aspirants passed the exams along with the total passing percentage of 43.98%.

On the other hand, total 20,133 candidates appeared in BA/BSc composite annual exams 2017, out of which 6,139 candidates passed the exams along with the passing percentage of 30.49%.

University of the Punjab also organized a prize distribution ceremony in honour BA/BSc Annual exams 2017 position holders at Al Raazi Hall on Thursday (on result declaration day).

Congratulating the position holders, Dr Nasir said that girls belonging to the underprivileged families have secured top positions in BA/BSC annual exams 2017.

He announced that Punjab University will waive off fee for toppers and these aspirants will also be provided along with the PEEF scholarship worth Rs75, 000.

He furthermore announced Rs100, 000, Rs75, 000 as well as Rs65, 000 prize money for first, second and third position holders respectively.

The controller examinations of University of the Punjab Prof Dr Shahid Munir said the varsity had started split BA/BSc in 2 parts and after many years, syllabuses had been revised at bachelor’s and master’s level.
