Lahore: A full bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday warned the officials of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) to comply along with the court order of issuing degrees to the aspirants before the next date of hearing, or be ready to go to the jail.
The bench warns the vice chancellor and the registrar of Bahauddin Zakariya University for not issuing degrees to the students of Lahore Campus in accordance with an interim court order.

At first, the bench on February 7th ordered the varsity to issue, as an interim measure, degrees to students, who had passed their exams at the Lahore sub-campus.
On Monday, counsels for petitioner informed the court that degrees had not been issued to aspirants in spite of the court's orders.
The court was hearing petitions of students against the management of university after the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) had announced the establishment of the sub-campus of university in Lahore illegal and subsequently the campus was closed down.

The petitioners had further added that future of students was at risk because of the closure of the sub-campus and non-issuance of degrees.
