Lecturer among 3 more arrested in Mashal Khan murdering case

Mardan: Mardan police on Tuesday have arrested 3 more people also including a lecturer, for their suspected involvement in the cruel murdering of 23-year-old Mashal Khan, a student of Abdul Wali Khan University, last month.

A high-ranking official while talking to media sources said that that based on tip-offs, the police had done operations in different regions Mardan and arrested 3 men including a lecturer of the Government Post Graduate College, Mardan along with the student of Abdul Wali Khan University Wajid Khan & Alias Malang Jan who had provoked the mob to murder Mashal Khan.

Wajid as well as the other arrested aspirant were the ones who had accused the mass communication department lecturer Ziaullah Hamdard of hiding Mashal, stole his mobile phone and afterwards traced the victim to the hostel of the university where he was attacked and murdered last month on April 13^th, 2017, said officer.

Along with the new arrests, the total number of arrested people caught for their involvement in the terrible crime has reached fifty six.

The two main suspects are still free, including the councilor of PTI Arif Mardan as well as an aspirant belonging to Jamaat-e-Islami.

The JIT (joint investigation team) charged with probing the incident along with the police of Mardan has completed its report and would submit it to the Supreme Court today.

The student of Journalism, Mashal Khan was shot dead plus his body was brutally dishonored on the campus of Abdul Wali Khan University last month by a crowd after he was accused of blasphemy.
