Lahore High Court orders UHS to hold results of MDCAT 2017 paper

Lahore: On Thursday, the Lahore High Court ordered the University of Health Sciences to hold the results of Medical & Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2017 held on August 20^th, 2017.

This order by LHC was passed after a group of 11 aspirants moved to the Lahore High Court seeking investigations of a leak MDCAT 2017 paper as reported on social media.

The justice of Lahore High Court Shahid Waheed while hearing the petition on Thursday asked the UHS and Punjab Government not to deal with the entry test results.

The defendants have also been asked to submit a written result before September 13^th, 2017.

Earlier, on Monday the vice chancellor of University of Health Sciences Prof Dr Junaid Sarfraz Khan criticized the rumors that the entry test paper was leaked before time.

As per the representative of University of Health Sciences, it was only a hoax by a Facebook page named ‘Ya mbbs hai mamu’ that claimed the leakage of MDCAT paper 2017.

The head of University of Health Sciences also moved FIA to track the fraudster who according to him spoiled the credibility of the varsity.

Over 65,000 candidates including 41,000 female aspirants appeared for the MDCAT test 2017 on Sunday.

UHS had appointed approximately 5,500 invigilators while almost 1,000 superintendents and deputy superintendents.

The test was organized at 28 emanation centres established in 13 cities at the same time. These cities include Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Dera Ghazi Khan and Hassan Abdal.

This year, the aspirants are challenging for 3405 MBBS seats in 17 government sector medical colleges and 216 BDS seats in 3 government sector dental colleges across the province.

Furthermore, there are 2590 MBBS seats available in 21 private sector medical colleges while 555 BDS seats in 9 private dental colleges affiliated along with the University of Health Sciences.
