Karachi University introduces postgraduate teaching diploma

The Dean of faculty of Education, Prof Dr Shagufta yesterday said that, an innovative study program, post graduate diploma in teaching in technical education, B.ED, has been introduced at University of Karachi (KU).

This one year degree programme has been initiated in association along with the German university, Kaiserslautern Technical University as well as the provincial government`s Sindh Technical Education and the Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA).

Prof Shagufta moreover said that the study program was reveled in view of developing trained teachers for the technical educational institutions in the state.

She also informed that the vice chancellor of University of Karachi signed the MoU under his vision to establish the bridge between the two universities and to begin a new program in university. She said that “Teacher development is so much important in a developing a state to revitalize the future of the children”.

While addressing on the event, Uwe Wickenburg, the representative of the German university said that the programme will bring forward a group of the trained teachers along with the abilities in teaching methodology.
