Islamabad High Court Declares Reserved Decision About Dissolution of PMDC Through A Presidential Ordinance “Null & Void”

Honorable Judge Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani of Divisional Bench by Islamabad High Court announced reserved decision about PMDC dissolution case and ordered that employees of the council be reinstated. Court also declared illegal and unlawful establishment of new Commission.

After the completion of arguments by both parties, the decision was reserved on 8^th January, 2020 which has been declared today on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.

Remember, President Dr. Arif Alvi promulgated an ordinance on October 21, 2019 for dissolving PMDC and formulated new Commission “Pakistan Medical Commission Ordinance 2019” which was challenged by sacked employees of PMDC.  Brig (Retd) Dr Hafizud Din and other 31 employees had challenged the Presidential Ordinance and filed a petition that services of PMDC employees were terminated without hearing them properly.
