The Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) Islamabad rejected claims of matriculation and intermediate exam postponement with an official statement made on twitter and on its official website. Recently, social media platforms were filled with IBCC issued notification, which stated that the annual Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) exams have been delayed to August and October, respectively. However, this notification has been rejected and labeled as fake by the IBCC. On twitter, IBCC stated, “Please don’t consider any news, unless posted from the official source.” This bold statement renders the claims regarding exam postponement as false.
An official statement made by IBCC read, “The entire news, its signatory is denied officially by IBCC. This has no worth at all. All the BISEs across the country work according to their domain and schedule. All are therefore requested not to pay any attention to this fake information about examinations…Examinations across the country will be conducted by the respective boards in accordance with their schedules and IBCC has no role in it.” The statement released by IBCC clarified doubts of the public.
In addition to this, it stated that further information pertaining to rescheduling of examinations could be acquired from respective boards.
In January, a meeting of IBCC steering committee had decided that SSC and HSSC examinations would be conducted in the months of May and June 2021 as per schedule. In a statement by IBCC given on twitter said that all examinations would follow the existing pattern of the question paper. “Results will be announced before the end of August.” It further added. It was also decided in the meeting of IBCC steering committee - held on January 2021 - that Secondary School Certificate exams should be held by 24 May 2021, ideally.
