Currently, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is accepting applications for the Law Admission Test (LAT) 2023. All the candidates who want to enroll in 5-year undergraduate LLB program in HEC recognized public or private institutions should apply as soon as possible. The HEC is conducting this Law Admission Test (LAT) in major cities of Pakistan, and candidates can choose their desired examination center while filling out the LAT Test application. For admission to an undergraduate LLB program, LAT Test is now mandatory in all Pakistan public and private institutes. It also determines whether the candidate possesses the basic knowledge and skills to study law.

Who Can Apply for LAT Test?

  • Candidates who have cleared their HSSC/inter or equivalent qualification with at least 55% marks are eligible to apply.
  • Those who have taken the HSSC/inter exams and are awaiting their results can also apply.
 

 

Law Admission Test (LAT) Date 2023

  • HEC LAT will be held on 9th April 2023. Candidates will be informed via www.hec.gov.pk and http://etc.hec.gov.pk f the test date gets changed due to some unavoidable circumstances. 
  • Applicants registered through HEC online registration process will be able to download their LAT Roll Number Slip from HEC ETC online portal and registered Email address at least a week before the LAT test date.
  • Email/SMS will also be sent to registered applicants to notify them about the test date, time and venue of the exam. 
  • While filling online application forms, candidates are required to provide valid email/mobile numbers on which they wish to receive Roll Number Slips and other updates.
  • A printed LAT Roll Number Slip, Original paid Fee Challan and Original CNIC will be required to enter the Test Centre on the Test Day.

This Law Admission Test (LAT) is being held in major cities of Pakistan by the HEC. When filling out the LAT Test application, candidates can choose their preferred examination center. How to Register for the LAT Test:

  • Please visit the following link: http://etc.hec.gov.pk for online registration.
  • Create an account on the HEC ETC online application portal.
  • In case of any difficulty while creating an admission portal account, please visit www.onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk or visit HEC Secretariat or contact HEC regional office for guidance.
  • Complete your HEC ETC portal profile.
  • Then to start the application submission process, press the "Law Admission Test" button on menu panel in left hand side bar of your online portal.
  • Incomplete applications or applications in save mode will not be considered for LAT. Only applications that have been completed and submitted will be considered.
  • Download Bank Fee Challan while registering for the test at http://etc.hec.gov.pk. Fee Challan can only be downloaded from ETC online registration portal).
  • Submit the Test Fee of Rs. 1800/- in the Account No. 1742 7900 133401, Account Title: Higher Education Commission, Bank: Habib Bank Limited, Branch Code: 1742.
  • All applicants are required to upload the Paid & Scanned challan copy, duly stamped by an HBL branch, while completing the application form.
  • The test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable in any case.
  • To successfully submit your LAT Test application, press the “Submit” button. 
 

 

LAT Test Important Instructions:

  • The last date to submit the LAT test application is 27th March 2023.
  • The LAT exam will be held on 9th April 2023.
  • Candidates are advised to provide valid email and mobile numbers, so the HEC can send you email/SMS, to inform you about the test date, time and venue of the exam.
  • LAT test will be conducted in the major cities of Pakistan, candidates can select their desired examination hall from the Centre list available in the application form. Examination Centre/Hall cannot be changed after the submission of application.
  • Printed roll Number slip, Original paid fee challan and original CNIC card is mandatory to enter the LAT test Centre on the test day. 
  • For admission to public and private HEC-recognized law schools in Pakistan, applicants must earn at least 50% in the Law Admission Test.
