HEC Announces Scholarships For Masters and Ph.D. Programs

The higher education commission has announced the scholarships for the masters and Ph.D. programs offered by Xi'an Jiaotong University for the academic year 2021-2022. The applications are invited from the nationals of Pakistan and Azad & Jammu Kashmir for this scholarship program. So the interested candidates are advised to submit the application form by 30th January 2021. The scholarships are offered in the disciplines of Mechanical Engineering, Energy & Power Engineering, Electronics & Information Engineering, Material Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Studies, and Aerospace engineering. To facilitate the candidates the details about the eligibility criteria, application process, and documents required are mentioned below. 

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicants must be Azad & Jammu Kashmir/ Pakistani nationals. Those having dual nationality are not eligible to apply.
• The applicants applying for the master’s degree (16 years) should have a bachelor’s degree and the age limit is 35 years.
• For the doctoral degree, the academic qualification must be a Master's degree (18 years) and the candidate should be under 40 years of age.
• The candidates that are availing of any other scholarship cannot apply.
• Applicants for the Ph.D. programs should have some achievements in the research. 

Application Procedure

• The candidates are required to submit the online application form at the HEC web portal and Xi'an Jiaotong University's International student application system. 
• Make sure to provide the correct information otherwise the application form will be rejected. Moreover, the authorities will also not entertain incomplete application forms. 
• The application processing fee is Rs. 500/- that can be submitted in any branch of Habib Bank Limited. 
• After the submission of the application form, the candidates must retain the printed copy. 
• At the stage of the application process, there is no need to submit the hard copy of the application form to Higher Education Commission. 

Documents Required

Following are the documents required by the candidates

• The shortlisted candidates have to submit the attested copies of educational documents, domicile, CNIC, IBB equivalency certificate (in case of foreign qualification). 
• A study plan or research proposal, research publication, language proficiency certificate and copy of passport.
• Photocopy of the Physical Examination Record 
• Non-criminal Record 
• Two recommendation letters by professors of previous institution. In case the candidates have got the reference letter from the professors at Xi'an Jiaotong University then they can also attach it.
