HEC Announces Curriculum Update

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has officially stated that there is indeed a thorough revision of the curriculum of business and management degree programs . This is a significant move, which followed a detailed analysis of the National Curriculum Revision Committee (NCRC) , and this shows that HEC is determined at the modernization of the higher education in the country. The new curriculum according to the official press release is broad and offers numerous academic programs such as BBA , BS , MBA , MS as well as Associate Degrees in Business and Management. The NCRC review meeting was conducted at the Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences) at Peshawar. The conference united key academicians, seasoned scholars and industrial practitioners of Pakistan based universities. The meeting was organized under the Curriculum Division of HEC and was intended to establish a common academic framework that will not only improve the theoretical knowledge of students joining the business sector but also provide them with a practical field of study.

Curriculum In-Touch With Global Market Needs

HEC pointed out that the new amended curriculum has been well-designed in order to satisfy new market demands and international standards of education. Management and Committee Position

The NCRC session was facilitated by the renowned academic leaders and professionals. The Convener of the meeting was Dr. Naukhez Sarwar, Professor and Principal of the NUST Business School. Dr. The Co-Convener was Farooq-e-Azam Cheema Provost of the Karachi School of Business and Leadership (KSBL). Hidayatullah Kasi, who is the Deputy Director at HEC, acted as the Secretary of the session, and enabled members to coordinate with one another.

Such academic personalities, and the other members of the committee, lent their experience in coming up with a curriculum that would bring out a balance of knowledge, skills and ethical values. They all work towards the standardisation of business education in universities and students get similar learning opportunities irrespective of the university where they are.
