Every year tens of thousands of Muslims visit the holy cities of Mecca and Medina to offer religious worships. Recently the Saudi government announced that this year the limited number of pilgrims will perform the Hajj. Only the people living in Saudi Arabia will be allowed to offer Hajj due to concerns over the novel coronavirus. After this, the minister of religious affairs proclaimed to return the payments to registered pilgrims as they will not be able to perform Hajj. Refund Money
The process to refund the money will be started from 2nd July across the country. According to the sources it is compulsory for the applicants to visit the bank in person to collect the payment. To get the money via banker checks the group leaders have to come with the documents of the group members in the designated bank branches.
The Decision Of Saudi Government
To halt the spread of the COVID-19 previously the government officials also suspended the Umrah pilgrimage. The death tally in Saudi Arabia has been reached up to 1300 and almost 1 lac and 61 thousand people are affected by this deadly virus. By considering this situation the government has imposed certain restrictions to lessen the risk of the infection.
