Government of Punjab Issues Winter Vacations Schedule for Universities

The government of Punjab has issued the winter vacations schedule for the universities. According to the notification issued by the Higher Education Department, it has been informed that all the public and private universities across the province will remain closed from 23rd December 2021 to 6th January 2022 due to winter vacations. It has been notified that all the universities of Pakistan that come under the jurisdiction of the Higher Education Department Punjab have to follow the orders given by the provincial government.

Announcement of Punjab Government

All the concerned authorities have to ensure 100% vaccination of all the teaching, non-teaching, and students to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic by the opening of the educational institutes as the new Omicron variant of COVID-19 has been detected. So the government has urged the people to take all the precautionary measures as issued by the Health Department for the safety of the people. It has been clarified that the non-vaccinated teaching, non-teaching staff, and students will not be allowed to enter their respective universities and colleges.

Winter Vacations In Schools

Earlier the Education Minister of Punjab had also announced the schedule of the winter vacations for all the public and private schools across the province. In all the Punjab schools the winter vacations will be observed from 23rd December 2021 to 6th January 2022. Besides this, the other provincial governments that include Sindh, Balochistan, and KPK had also provided the winter vacations schedule. The winter vacations had been announced by the provincial governments on the recommendations of the NCOC as the meeting of the National Command and Operation Center was held on 17th December 2021 to decide about the commencement date of the winter vacations. It had been said that all the provincial governments will notify the students about the schedule of winter vacations.
