The Punjab Government has prepared its recommendations regarding exams. This year the government has decided not to fail any student. It was advised not to take any exam this year. Those students who already owe a supply in any subject would be promoted to next class in intermediate part one by giving them average marks.
Punjab board committee chairman has prepared its recommendations related to board exams according to which there would be 11 categories of students consisting of composite, repeat, supplementary and those students who wanted to improve the division in this year. The students who fall in these categories are 7% of the total amount of students.. According to these recommendations the 9th class students would be promoted to 10th class and 11th class students would be promoted to 12th class. The 11th class marks would be considered to promote the students as the marks would be doubled and the result would be prepared. But if the students want to appear in board exams in the next coming year they would be allowed to sit in board exams. The recommendations prepared by the Punjab government would be presented to the Federal minister of education today.
On 13th May the Punjab government decided to cancel board exams this year amid the coronavirus lockdown. Before this the Federal Minister of Education on 10th of May addressed to the media that 10th and 12th students would be promoted without exams and 9th and 11th class students may appear in composite exams next year. But he also said it is not final decision. He also said that the private students would not be promoted to the next class. Due to which the private candidates had shown concerns regarding one year discrepancy. Keeping in view the concerns of the private students the Punjab Government has prepared it recommendation which would be presented before the Federal Minister of Education for final decision.
