Education Minister Announces Fake News Being Circulated About School Closure

The Punjab Education Minister, Murad Raas announced that schools will not be closed again. Earlier the fake Twitter account under the Murad Raas had announced that the public and the private schools will be closed due to an increase in coronavirus cases. However, afterward, the minister clarifies that no such decision has been taken regarding this matter yet. He shared the screenshots of the fake news on his official Twitter account by shutting down all the rumors about the closure of the educational institutions. The minister clearly stated that the schools will carry out the academic activities as per the schedule without any disruption.  

NCOC Meeting

The meeting of the National Command and Operation Center has been scheduled in which all the educational minister will participate to discuss the situation of the coronavirus and take the decision about the closure of the schools. The final decision will be taken on November 5, 2020, and the minister will announce the duration of the winter vacations. The federal education minister will preside over the meeting while the education minister of all the four provinces will also attend the meeting. Furthermore, the officials will also discuss the other educational matters such as the commencement of the new academic year.

Increase In Coronavirus Cases

With the rapid increase in coronavirus cases across the country, the parents have become concerned. According to the sources, it has been said that the government is continuously monitoring the situation of the coronavirus in the schools and take the next steps accordingly. Random testing is also being done and only a few cases have been reported. There is an only a slight increase in the number of coronavirus cases so the children will attend the schools. Previously the Federal education minister issues the clarification that the government has not decided to shut down the educational institutes. The rumors that have been circulating on social media platforms are baseless.
