KARACHI: A day after academic activities in public varsities crosswise over Sindh were canceled, Karachi University (KU) instructors continued classes on Thursday in the wake of holding a rally on grounds to proceed with their challenge.

The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (Fapuasa), Sindh Universities Officers Society and Sindh Employees Federation are in agreement to battle for the self-sufficiency of the colleges, said Karachi University Teachers Society president and Fapuasa general secretary Dr Shakeel Farooqi. He further included that without precedent for as far back as three years, every one of these leagues have joined against the Sindh government.

Academic exercises in public colleges in Jamshoro and Hyderabad likewise continued on Thursday following a one-day showing blacklist on August 31, which was seen on Fapuasa's call.

The officers' association, and the lower staff relationship of Sindh University, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology and Sindh Agriculture University, supported the call.

The representatives of the teachers said that the following round of blacklist is liable to begin after Eid holidays as Fapuasa has given a due date till September 9 to the provincial government to acknowledge their requests.
