Annual Sports Gala of Institute of Communication Studies, Punjab University

Lahore, A one week sports gala held at Institute of Communication Studies, Punjab University Lahore. In the closing ceremony English debate on the topic of “Media is promoting Peace...?” was organized at Hameed Nizami Hall of ICS. Different students took part in debate. Some students sported the statement ”Media is promoting Peace...?” In their speeches, they gave the arguments and said that media is playing important role in the society.

In electricity crises in floor and sugar crises and in Chief Justice issue media played very important role. One debater said that one of the major causes of separation of East Pakistan was the weakness of Pakistani media. Different students gave the arguments against the statement “Media is promoting Peace...?”

One of the speakers Miss Jaweria Moussar said “Media is a disease which has no remedy”. She said that we have to save the nation from the harmful effects of media.

Students enjoyed the event very much as it was observed by their clapping. After that a judge Madam Sajida Nissar announced the results, according to which Mr. Yousaf stood 1st, Miss Jaweria Moussar 2nd, while Miss Aysha Khalid took the 3rd position. At the end Dr Ahsan Akhter Naz, Director Institute of Communication Studies Punjab University. Appreciated the students for participating actively in the sports galla.
